Rooftop Harvest is a series of events that honours food and our connection to the natural cycle of growth, harvest, nourishment and enjoyment provided by the home-grown produce from our rooftop garden.
We are delighted to launch our very first Rooftop Harvest event with the widely regarded and thoroughly delightful cook, best-selling author and presenter, Julia Busuttil Nishimura, known to many as Julia Ostro. Much-loved for her uncomplicated approach to preparing food that celebrates simplicity, the seasons, and a sense of place; Julia is renowned for cooking food that is generous, both in its flavour and accessibility.
Fresh from a residency at the Australian Open, Julia will present a moveable feast at The Calile, with guests invited to take part in an epicurean excursion that celebrates the bounty of the late summer harvest.
From a welcome in the wide golden skies of The Calile Rooftop Garden to an alfresco dinner in our Amphitheatre, Julia, will present a culinary tour that pairs seasonal ingredients from the Rooftop Garden with her wholesome, flavourful yet extremely attainable approach to food.
The tour will begin at the top, with guests welcomed to the Calile Rooftop Garden with welcome drinks and canapés inspired by the bounty of the edible garden. Julia will give an intimate live cooking demonstration sharing the joy of cooking she is renowned for, and the theatre of the dish coming to life – from garden to plate.
Guests will then shift to The Amphitheatre to enjoy a three-course alfresco family-style dinner with Julia and a special menu also developed by Julia.
Uniting attendees through a shared love of good food and served in an alternative dining setting, our debut Rooftop Harvest event will celebrate the joy of cooking and coming together to connect over a bite to eat. A sentiment we wholeheartedly believe in and will carry forward in future Rooftop Harvest events.
NOTE: Tickets are highly limited and available on a first-in-first-served basis. A waitlist is available, however we cannot guarantee tickets will become available so recommend early purchase to avoid disappointment.
