FAQ

Check-in and Checkout

Hotel check-in is at 2:00PM and check-out before 11:00AM.  If you require a late checkout or early check-in, please discuss your requirements with Guest Services either prior to arrival or when checking in. Whilst our team will accommodate wherever possible, please note requests are subject to availability.

Please be advised that use of the facilities including the pool is available only whilst checked-in to your room and not prior to check-in or following check-out.

To complete check in on arrival, you will need a valid photo ID and a credit card. We place a temporary pre-authorisation of $100 per night for incidentals upon check in. Please also note that The Calile Hotel is a cashless venue.

The hotel provides luggage storage for hotel guests pre or post-stay at no extra charge. Our reception is available to assist you 24 hours a day.

Parking

SELF PARKING

The Calile Hotel secure car park is available to access from 6:00AM – 12:00AM daily with the entrance through Ada Lane via Wandoo Street. The carpark has a maximum entrance height of 2.3 metres. Parking is $30 per day for guests staying at The Calile, tickets can be validated at reception by Guest Services. Please note, if you are attending an event, visiting Kailo Medispa or dining at any of our restaurants on site, different parking charges will apply. Please visit the Wilson Parking website for pricing.

VALET PARKING

Valet parking is available for $50 per day via our porte-cochère, entrance via Doggett Street.

Pool & Cabana Policy

The pool is reserved exclusively for staying guests. Guests must be in possession of a valid hotel room key and are not permitted to invite non-staying guests into the pool area under any circumstances. Management reserve the right to refuse entry or remove non-staying guests at any time.

For guest privacy, The Calile pool area has a strict no photography and videography policy.

The Calile pool is serviced by Hellenika. BYO is prohibited with all external food and beverage not permitted. For the comfort of all guests, gatherings of large groups and parties in the pool area are not permitted.

Guests dining at Hellenika are strictly prohibited from use of the pool and pool facilities at any time.

DAY BEDS: 6:00 am – 9:00 pm
Day beds are available from 6:00 am until 9:00 pm and cannot be pre-booked. If day beds are left unoccupied for longer than 15 minutes, they will be reallocated by our pool service team.

CABANAS: 6:00 am – 5:45 pm
During the day, cabanas are available for all hotel guests. Cabanas cannot be reserved or pre-booked. While utilising the pool, you may register your interest in a cabana with a pool attendant who will either allocate an available cabana, or place you on a waitlist. During busy periods a 3-hour time limit will apply to all cabana use.

CABANAS: 5:45 pm – Late
In the evening, all cabanas are reserved for Hellenika dining. Bookings are essential, please contact Hellenika to book.

Photo, video and commercial use

Any activity for commercial or promotional use (including all photography and videography) is prohibited anywhere within the hotel and its grounds without the prior written consent of Management and, without an authorised location agreement and acknowledgement form.

The use of professional camera equipment in and around The Calile’s public spaces is not permitted.

Management reserves the right to cancel accommodation and request the immediate cessation of any activity taking place in breach of this policy.

Unauthorised imagery or video must not be published on any media and must be immediately removed from the public domain upon request from hotel Management.

Hotel rooms are solely for guest accommodation and enjoyment. Hotel rooms are not to be used as locations for commercial or unauthorised activity including but not limited to photoshoots, pop up shops, trunk shows and so on.

Please note that the Calile has strict guidelines in place to protect guest privacy. All media, commercial and promotional photography, videography and activities require prior written approval from Management. Wedding Photography

We are delighted to welcome you for your special day, however wedding photography is only permitted in public and event spaces if your wedding celebration is taking place at The Calile Hotel. Guests who are staying at The Calile but getting married elsewhere are permitted photography only inside booked accommodation rooms. All other areas including but not limited to the rooftop, amphitheatre, level one, pool, elevator lobbies, hotel lobby or around the hotel grounds are not permitted as per our photography and videography policy.

Party Policy

The Calile Hotel enforces a strict no party policy in all rooms and suites at all times. Room occupancy is limited to two adults, with group gatherings over this in rooms, suites and public spaces prohibited. 

Failure to comply with this policy may result in a minimum fine of $1,000AUD applied to your room account at the discretion of management. This policy is in place to protect the comfort, security and safety of all hotel guests and staff and for the protection of The Calile Hotel property.

Kids at The Calile

Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to check-in and stay at The Calile.

Our guest rooms can accommodate two adults and one child under the age of 12 at no additional cost.

Children must be accompanied by an adult in all public spaces including the gymnasium and pool areas at all times. Further information can be accessed here.

Minibar

Your in-room minibar is filled with sweet and savoury snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and a few handy lifestyle items. If you would like all, or any part of your minibar removed from your room before you check-in please let us know via  reception@thecalilehotel.com

Smoking and Vape Policy

The Calile is 100% smoke-free including but not limited to, rooms, balconies, event spaces and in all public spaces. It is prohibited to smoke or vape anywhere on premises. It is Queensland law (Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Act 1998) that persons smoking outdoors must be a minimum of five metres from the entrance to the hotel and any store or business at all times. Failure to comply is an offence and may result in an on the spot fine and cleaning fee. This law also applies to vaping and e-cigarettes.

Vouchers and packages allow for flexibility with no exact dates required just select a dollar value, or a room type and the lucky recipient books their future stay. Dining at The Calile

We love to come together over food and conversation around here, both within the hotel and in our neighbourhood. There are four on-site restaurants and bars tucked in neatly under our roof and endless epicurean adventures to be had in our community. A quick break down:

Lobby Bar (ground level)
Open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in-between

Hellenika (level 1)
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, as well as poolside service exclusively for hotel guests.

Sushi Room (ground level)
Open for lunch Thursday and Friday, dinner Tuesday to Saturday

SK Steak & Oyster (entry via Ada Lane)
Open for lunch Thursday and Friday, dinner Tuesday to Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday.

Room Service
Available daily from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm and an overnight menu available 7 days a week.

Ada Lane
Adjacent to the hotel is Ada Lane, home to a range of bars, restaurants and snack spots including: Bianca, Gelato Messina, Jocelyn’s Provisions, LOS Bar and sAme sAme.

James St
Our neighbourhood is home to some of Brisbane’s best dining and bars, all within easy walking distance including Gerard’s, Cru Bar & Cellar, Harveys Bar + Bistro, Agnes Bakery and Mosconi.

Breakfast

Breakfast is not automatically included in your reservation unless you have booked the Bed and Breakfast package. Breakfast at The Calile is available at the Lobby Bar, poolside at Hellenika or via Room Service.

Getting here

TAXI/UBER

A taxi or Uber to or from Brisbane Airport to The Calile will cost approximately $50.00 subject to traffic conditions.

PRIVATE CAR

Arrange a private transfer to or from Brisbane Domestic or International Airport. Contact concierge to book here.

TRAIN

From Brisbane Airport – Take the Airtrain to Fortitude Valley station, this journey is approximately 40 minutes in duration and fares start from $18.00 one-way. The hotel is located one kilometre and a short ten-minute walk from Fortitude Valley station.

From the Gold Coast – Take the Brisbane Airport train travelling north to Fortitude Valley station. Fares begin at $13.30 one-way. The hotel is located one kilometre and a short ten-minute walk \ from Fortitude Valley station.

BUS

James Street near Robertson Street Stop 8A is situated adjacent to the entrance to the hotel. The bus has a set route, including Brisbane city and inner suburbs such as Teneriffe, Toowong, Auchenflower, Milton and Petrie Terrace.

Room occupancy

Our rooms cater for a maximum of two adults if you require more than two adults in your room during your stay we recommend our interconnecting rooms. Please contact reservations@thecalilehotel.com for assistance.

Hotel Cancellation Policy

For any booking that requires payment on check-in to the hotel, booking must be cancelled by 2:00PM, 24 hours before arrival, or 2:00PM, 7 days prior to arrival for Poolside Rooms and Suites. Cancellations within this time will result in a cancellation fee equal to the first nights’ accommodation and will be charged to the credit card used to guarantee payment of your account. For bookings that require full prepayment, any cancellation will result in a fee equal to the first night’s accommodation. For full terms and conditions, please refer to your confirmation letter or contact our reservations team on reservations@thecalilehotel.com.

Pets

The Calile loves creatures big and small however pets are not permitted inside the hotel rooms or in public spaces. If you have an assistance dog or wish to discuss your circumstances with our team please email reservations@thecalilehotel.com

Audio and Video

For guest comfort and enjoyment, all audio including but not limited to music, movies, videos, calls and presentations must not be audible to any other guests and must only be played through headphones in all public spaces. Management reserves the right to request the immediate discontinuation of any audio.
