FAQ

Check-in and Checkout

Hotel check-in is at 2:00PM and check-out before 11:00AM.  If you require a late checkout or early check-in, please discuss your requirements with Guest Services either prior to arrival or when checking in. Whilst our team will accommodate wherever possible, please note requests are subject to availability.

Please be advised that use of the facilities including the pool is available only whilst checked-in to your room and not prior to check-in or following check-out.

To complete check in on arrival, you will need a valid photo ID and a credit card. We place a temporary pre-authorisation of $100 per night for incidentals upon check in. Please also note that The Calile Hotel is a cashless venue.

The hotel provides luggage storage for hotel guests pre or post-stay at no extra charge. Our reception is available to assist you 24 hours a day.

Parking

SELF PARKING

The Calile Hotel secure car park is available to access from 6:00AM – 12:00AM daily with the entrance through Ada Lane via Wandoo Street. The carpark has a maximum entrance height of 2.3 metres. Parking is $30 per day for guests staying at The Calile, tickets can be validated at reception by Guest Services.

VALET PARKING

Valet parking is available for $50 per day via our porte-cochère, entrance via Doggett Street.

Pool & Cabana Policy

The pool is exclusively for the enjoyment of hotel guests whilst checked in to the hotel and in possession of a valid hotel room key. Guests are not permitted to bring non-staying guests into the pool area under any circumstance. For guest privacy, there is a strict no photography and videography policy in the pool area. As the pool area is serviced by Hellenika, external food and beverage are not permitted within this space. For the comfort of all guests enjoying the pool area, gatherings of large groups around the pool area is not permitted.

Guests dining at Hellenika either at Poolside tables or in cabanas in the evening are not able to use the pool facilities at any time.

DAY BEDS / 6:00 am – 9:00 pm
Day beds are available from 6:00 am until 9:00 pm and cannot be pre-booked. If day beds are left unoccupied for longer than 15 minutes, they will be reallocated by our pool service team to any guests waiting for day beds.

CABANAS / 6:00 am – 5:45 pm
During the day, all cabanas are reserved for hotel guests. Cabanas cannot be prebooked. Upon arrival to the pool area during your stay please register your details with our pool attendant who will allocate an available cabana to you or, place you on a waitlist if all cabanas are currently occupied. During busy periods a 3-hour time limit will apply.

CABANAS / 5:45 pm – Late
In the evening, all cabanas are reserved for Hellenika dinner guests. Bookings are essential. Please contact the Hellenika team to book.

Photo, video and commercial use

While we passionately support creative initiatives, any activity (including photography and videography) of a commercial or promotional nature is not permitted anywhere within the hotel without the prior written approval of hotel management and, in the case of photography/videography, without an authorised location acknowledgement form.

For the comfort and privacy of all hotel guests and staff, the use of professional camera equipment in and around The Calile’s public spaces is not permitted.

Hotel management has the right to cancel accommodation and require the immediate cessation of any activity taking place in breach of this condition.

Unauthorised imagery or video must not be published on any media and must be immediately removed from the public domain upon request from hotel management.

Hotel rooms are to be used solely for guest accommodation and enjoyment. Hotel rooms are not to be used as locations for commercial or unauthorised activity including photoshoots, pop up shops, trunk shows etc. For any queries please contact hello@thecalilehotel.com

Wedding Photography

While we are delighted to have you stay for your special day, wedding photography is not permitted in public areas or event spaces unless your wedding celebration is taking place at The Calile Hotel. Hotel guests who are getting married elsewhere can capture photos inside booked accommodation rooms; however, areas such as the rooftop, amphitheatre, level one, hotel lobby or around the hotel grounds are not permitted as per our photography/videography policy.

Party Policy

The Calile Hotel enforces a strict policy on guest occupancy of two adults in all rooms and suites at all times. This policy expressly prohibits group gatherings and parties in rooms, suites and public spaces during your stay. Failure to comply with this policy may result in a charge of a minimum $1,000 applied to your room account at management discretion. This policy is in place to protect the comfort, security and safety of hotel guests and staff and, for the protection of Calile Hotel property.

Kids at The Calile

Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to check-in and stay at The Calile. Our guest rooms can accommodate one child under the age of 12 years using existing bedding at no additional charge with a parent or guardian. Children must be accompanied by an adult in the gym, public and pool areas at all times. Read more about our children’s policy here.

Minibar

Your in-room minibar is filled with sweet and savoury snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and a few handy lifestyle items. If you would like all, or any part of your minibar removed from your room before you check-in please let us know via  reception@thecalilehotel.com

Smoking Policy

The Calile is 100% smoke-free including in rooms, on balconies and all public spaces. We ask those who smoke to be a minimum of three metres from the outside of the building at all times. Failure to comply may result in a financial penalty. This policy also applies to e-cigarettes.

Dining at The Calile

The hotel has four on-site restaurants and bars – Lobby Bar (ground level), Hellenika (poolside), Sushi Room (ground level) and SK Steak and Oyster on Ada Lane

The Calile’s Lobby Bar is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in-between.

Hellenika is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, Hellenika also offers poolside service exclusively for hotel guests.

Sushi Room is open is open for lunch Thursday and Friday, dinner Tuesday to Saturday for refined Japanese fine dining.

SK Steak & Oyster is open for lunch Thursday and Friday, dinner Tuesday to Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday.

The Calile Hotel offers room service daily between 6:30AM and 1.00AM Sunday – Thursday and 24 hours Friday and Saturday, and has a fully stocked mini-bar for your enjoyment.

Adjacent to the hotel is recently opened Ada Lane, consisting of; sAme sAme, Land Of Smiles bar, Bianca, Gelato Messina and Jocelyn’s Provisions. Breakfast

Guests are able to choose between breakfast at the Lobby Bar or poolside at Hellenika. Our accommodation bookings do not include breakfast as standard unless booking the Bed and Breakfast package. You are welcome to book via the restaurants directly or simply visit your restaurant of choice at your leisure.

Getting here

TAXI/UBER

A taxi or Uber to or from Brisbane Airport to The Calile will cost approximately $35.00 subject to traffic conditions.

PRIVATE CAR

Arranging a private transfer to or from Brisbane Domestic or International Airport will cost approximately $79.00 each way. Contact concierge to book here.

TRAIN

From Brisbane Airport – Take the Airtrain to Fortitude Valley station, this journey is approximately 40 minutes in duration and fares start from $18.00 one-way. The hotel is located one kilometre and a short ten-minute walk from Fortitude Valley station.

From the Gold Coast – Take the Brisbane Airport train travelling north to Fortitude Valley station. Fares begin at $13.30 one-way. The hotel is located one kilometre and a short ten-minute walk \ from Fortitude Valley station.

BUS

James Street near Robertson Street Stop 8A is situated adjacent to the entrance to the hotel. The bus has a set route, including Brisbane city and inner suburbs such as Teneriffe, Toowong, Auchenflower, Milton and Petrie Terrace.

Room occupancy

Our rooms cater for a maximum of two adults if you require more than two adults in your room during your stay we recommend our interconnecting rooms. Please contact reservations@thecalilehotel.com for assistance.

Hotel Cancellation Policy

For any booking that requires payment on check-in to the hotel, booking must be cancelled by 2:00PM, 24 hours before arrival, within this time a cancellation fee will apply and will be charged to the credit card used to guarantee payment of your account. The cancellation fee is equal to the accommodation fee payable for one night of stay. For full terms and conditions, please refer to your confirmation letter.

Pets

The Calile loves creatures big and small however pets are not permitted inside the hotel rooms or in public spaces. If you have an assistance dog or wish to discuss your circumstances with our team please email reservations@thecalilehotel.com

Group Bookings

Audio / Video and Sound

When in public spaces movies, videos, music, internet calls, presentations and all other audio must only be played through headphones and should not be audible to any other member or guest present. The hotel reserves the right to request the immediate discontinuation of any audio found to be disruptive.
