About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced bartender who understands that great drinks are only part of the role. What matters just as much is how it’s delivered, with ease, care, and a natural sense of timing. The bar should feel calm and considered at all times, organised, ready, and quietly welcoming, no matter how busy the shift becomes.

In this role, you’ll help shape a bar experience that feels effortless but never accidental. From the classics through to more contemporary pours, everything is delivered with consistency and care, while the atmosphere remains steady and guest-focused.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Preparing classic and contemporary cocktails with precision and consistency
  • Offering service that feels personal rather than rehearsed
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and well-paced bar environment
  • Working closely with the team to create a space guests want to return to
  • Upholding high standards across quality, presentation, and service

About You

You’re someone who notices the small things and takes quiet pride in getting them right. Experience behind the bar matters, but instinct matters more. You’re comfortable in your craft, measured in your approach, and naturally tuned in to what guests need without it needing to be said.

You may bring:

  • Experience across spirits, wine, and classic cocktails

About the Role

We are currently have a full-time opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced barista to make outstanding coffee for our guests.  With natural flair, and a passion to consistently deliver a delicious experience, you will share your knowledge and work with other team members in the art of ‘all things coffee’.

To be successful in the position the main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining excellent presentation standards that are in line with market trends
  • Preparing and presenting beautiful coffee and beverages efficiently and within a reasonable time frame
  • Maintaining all coffee equipment – ensuring it is cleaned regularly and the workspace is impeccably tidy
  • Working in conjunction with the Lobby Bar Food & Beverage team to ensure all needs for that outlet are being met (pitching in and lending a hand as needed)

About You 

  • Creativity, passion, and talent for café art
  • Excellent attention to detail and sensational time management skills
  • Outstanding ‘coffee knowledge’,
  • Customer-focused – you get a real kick out of making someone else’s day

  • Experience within a similar position of similar size and scope
  • Full Australian working rights is essential with no visa restrictions. Visa Sponsorship is not available.
  • Ability to work on a 24/7 rotating roster
  • You will need to have completed an accredited RSA

THE POSITION

We seek a driven and motivated full-time Porter to join our Front Office team. You are the face of The Calile, and your presence and professionalism make you stand out from the crowd. You will be an enthusiastic, proactive, and driven team player, committed to ensuring our guests have an exemplary experience and delighting in assisting them in any way you can.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiating contact with guests entering and departing the hotel.
  • Ensuing the driveway and entrance to the hotel is kept clean and tidy, always in a presentable state.
  • Accommodating guest requests quickly and efficiently.
  • You have expert knowledge of Brisbane and James Street Precinct.
  • Performing valet parking duties as directed
  • Assisting guests with special requests, general information, transportation, event tickets, restaurant, airline reservations and any other reasonable requests as they arise

You must have a current and valid open Australian driver’s license, be able to drive manual and automatic vehicles and be available to work a rotating 7-day roster with a mix of early and late shifts.

The Position

An exciting full-time opportunity exists for you to join The Calile Team in the role of Night Auditor. As a key contributor to the seamless and efficient overnight operations of this very busy property, your main duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • The auditing of the daily activity of the front office and food & beverage operations in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Providing accurate and up-to-date financial and yield reports as directed
  • Night management of hotel operations in the absence of department HODs
  • Ensuring guest feedback is recorded accurately per operational standards and any matters requiring action are resolved in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Ensuring guest security and privacy are maintained at all times

About You

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel environment
    Prior knowledge of Opera Cloud is an advantage
  • Pride in ensuring the accuracy of work
  • It would be advantageous in the position to demonstrate an understanding of hotel finance
  • You enjoy working a flexible roster including shift work, weekends and public holidays and are available to work a flexible roster across all 7 days.

Maintenance Officer

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Officer to join our hotel’s maintenance team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a hotel, commercial property, or apartment complex and will be responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the hotel to ensure a high standard of presentation and functionality. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain the presentation and cleanliness of guest rooms and public areas.
  • Perform both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Carry out various maintenance duties, including carpentry, tiling, painting, plastering, plumbing, and general property repairs.
  • Complete scheduled weekly and monthly maintenance projects.
  • Ensure all work complies with local safety regulations and hotel standards.

About You

  • Trade qualification is preferred, particularly in carpentry or plumbing, though relevant hands-on experience will be considered.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional presentation with the ability to interact with guests when required.
  • Availability to work weekends on a rotating schedule.
  • Must be willing to undergo a police background check.

The Position

We are seeking an experienced full-time In-Room Dining Supervisor to lead the day-to-day delivery of our in-room dining experience at The Calile.

Reporting to the Conference & Events Operations Manager, you will oversee service operations, coach and support the Food & Beverage Attendant team, and work closely with our culinary and hotel operations teams to ensure every guest experience reflects The Calile standard.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads from the front, and takes pride in delivering thoughtful, accurate and memorable service.

  • Success in this role requires a leader who is calm under pressure, naturally collaborative and committed to delivering thoughtful service
  • Previous supervisory experience within a hotel, restaurant, in-room dining or premium food and beverage environment
