An important notice about a data security incident

Friday, 30 October - 3:55 pm AEST

We sincerely apologise, as we advise of a data security incident.

On 28 October, a routine security audit by The Calile Hotel identified unauthorised access by an unknown party to an external automation server used to support the hotel’s loyalty app.

The matter was immediately reported to senior management. Our IT specialists secured the server and have undertaken a detailed evaluation of the unauthorised activity.

We have begun advising affected individuals regarding the nature and extent of the breach including the steps that they may take to protect themselves in accordance with our obligations under the Privacy Act.

We have also engaged a cyber security expert to review the incident and make recommendations regarding improvements to the security of our systems and processes, including measures to help prevent a similar incident from occurring again.

While the investigation is ongoing we can confirm that the hotel's live booking and payment systems were not affected.

We understand the importance of keeping people informed and sincerely apologise for any concern this news may have caused. We will continue to share relevant, accurate information via this notice page as it becomes available.
