Poolside Attraction

We know you love our pool chairs, but did you know they love you too? We are delighted to present Poolside Attraction – a mini romance that blurs the lines between reality and fantasy and demonstrates that while poolside romances do happen, they may not always follow the classic Hollywood narrative.

It’s a reality we’ve all faced when on holiday here, there and everywhere – the struggle to get the best poolside lounging spot.  Setting alarm clocks, stalking the surrounds even floating in the pool like a watchful croc, ready to launch ourselves into a languid state, heavenly embraced by a pool chair in the sunshine.  But have you paused to think what the chair might be thinking… or even considered how the chair feels?

No, neither had we….

That is until we met LA based Film Director Scottie Cameron, who has an empathetic knack and insightful perspective for telling and filming whimsical, original and somewhat surreal stories.  In Poolside Attraction, Cameron inverts the love story narrative, taking a guest’s desire for a poolside lounger and turning it into a love story with a twist in the vibrant visual style that the filmmaker has become known for.

Don’t just take our word for it, Cameron has been busy creating amusing and playful short films for the likes of Jacquemus (The Making Of, Met Gala …a fave), Vogue, Apple, New Balance and most recently, was spotted Going Full Speedo with iconic Australian swim brand (note we cannot confirm or deny if Scottie actually went full speedo himself).

Beyond brands, Cameron can multi-task like no-one we know, photographing, directing, screenwriting and art directing films with the same quirky unassuming charm.  As proof, Cameron currently has a short film, Officer Stanley on the festival tour including the Tribeca Film Festival, Palm Springs Film Festival and hopefully soon to reach our shores too.

Known for blurring the lines between reality and fantasy, Poolside Attraction was written and directed by Cameron and was inspired by The Calile and its desirable pool experience, “The inspiration mostly came from the hotel itself, and what makes The Calile, The Calile,” Cameron states.

Our collaboration with Scottie Cameron is a love letter to our guests to show that we love them as much as they love our pool.
