WIN: We want your Book Club

We don’t need to read between the lines to know that you love your Book Clubs.

After an overwhelming response to our first Book Club competition in March, and spending time with, relishing and chuckling over your most joyous submissions, it is with great pleasure that we return with another opportunity to win and host your Book Club event at The Calile this May.

It is heart-warming to know that there are so many in our community that cherish not only storytelling but the connections that we make and the perspectives that are opened up when we come together in our Book Clubs. Some of our favourite responses to ‘why is your book club so special’:

“We’re sewn together like pages in a book.”

“We’ve turned something that can be lonely—writing, into a warm and inclusive community of seemingly-unlikely friends.”

“It’s bibliotherapy – therapy through books.”

“[We] celebrate powerful heroines, feminism, and the joy of stories that remind us of our own strength and magic.”

“…it’s a source of joy, connection, and laughter.”

We feel the same, a deep sense of warmth and connection to those that we share stories with. So, it is our delight to again offer another opportunity to win and host your May Book Club gathering in The Calile Library from 5:30–7pm on Tuesday 27 May.  With animated conversations, wine, cheese and parking for up to 10 guests of course.

To enter, simply share a short story about your book club below. It could be anything, how you found your club, an unexpected happening, a comical coincidence, a surprise visitor or a moving moment shared with your bookish companions.

Entries will close 9am AEST Tuesday 13 May with one book club event to be won. The lucky winner will be contacted via email on Monday 19 May. Please note, one entry per person is permitted, however each member of your book club is allowed to enter.

We look forward to hearing your stories and to welcoming you and your special Book Club to The Calile.

Happy storytelling!
