Rooftop Harvest: Cantina OK! ON Holiday!

Rooftop Harvest is an event series that honours food and our connection to the natural cycle of growth, harvest and enjoyment provided by the home-grown produce from our Rooftop Garden.

TBH, it’s also about fun.  Enjoying good food and drink, with good chats and maybe learning a thing or two.

So, when we decided we wanted to throw a fun little cocktail party takeover at Lobby Bar with the best in the industry making cocktails with us using our Rooftop Garden ingredients, Cantina OK! was an easy choice.

For those who have not yet discovered this micro mezcal Mecca from Sydney, Cantina OK! has been recognised previously as one of the World’s Top 50 Bars and its signature cocktail, the Margarita OK! is considered one of the best five cocktails in the world.  Not bad for a tiny bar located in a 17m² garage in a Sydney city alleyway. Despite its diminutive size however, Cantina OK! has a big heart and is a big name in the bar world.

On Tuesday 17 June, all are invited to join us at Lobby bar as Cantina OK! and our own Lobby Bar team combine forces to shake up fresh, customised cocktails using ingredients from our Rooftop Garden winter harvest.

Cantina OK! will parachute a crack cocktail team to the hotel, with Venue Manager, Jordan Grocock and Creative Lead Jaxon Kite touching down to serve an ode to The Calile via a custom cocktail. The Sandia OK! is a green and pink Margarita, inspired by the colours of The Calile pool, made with fresh lime and Cranberry Hibiscus leaf direct from the Rooftop Garden combined with Makrut Lime Leaf Tequila and topped with fluffy shaved watermelon giving the cocktail colour, character and texture.

The Calile’s expert Lobby Bar team will be mixing up their Marigold Highball. This twist on a classic highball uses house-made shrub with marigold leaves from the hotel’s own rooftop garden and coconut vinegar, served with Red Mill Coconut Rum and soda water.

Both custom-crafted cocktails will be paired with bespoke bar snacks, crafted using ingredients from the June harvest.

As a fellow recipient of accolades from the World’s 50 Best Academy (as a hotel of course, not a bar) we are excited to combine our two World’s Best super-powers to give our guests and community an opportunity to get double the ‘World’s Best’ in one location.

NOTE: Registration is recommended due to limited capacity.  There is no cost to register, and cocktails will be available to purchase and enjoy in Lobby Bar from 5–7:00pm on Tuesday 17 June only.
