Our Charitable Mission: 2025

At The Calile, we’re committed to giving back. For every night a guest stays with us, we donate $5 to local charities and organisations making a meaningful impact. That’s every room, every night, all year round.

We are surrounded by good people doing great things. Talented people doing brilliant things.  We want to support and empower that, because each and every one of them makes our community a better place to live and visit.  It enriches us all when we support each other.

We are dedicated to doing so via our ongoing charitable commitment – we donate $5 from every night a guest stays with us to local charities and organisations making a difference. That’s every night for every room, 365 days a year.

We’re proud to be part of a community full of good people doing brilliant things. By supporting them, we help build a richer, more vibrant place to live and visit.

This July, we have chosen to support the Institute of Modern Art (IMA)—a cornerstone of Brisbane’s cultural life. Supporting the IMA means backing bold ideas, artistic expression, and deep community connections—values we hold important at The Calile.

We invite our guests to join us. Match our $5 nightly donation to support this vital institution. Simply add your contribution when booking or speak to reception during your stay.

INSTITUTE OF MODERN ART (IMA) – July 2025

Celebrating 50 years in 2025, the IMA is Australia’s oldest independent public gallery. Always free and open to all, it’s more than a gallery—it’s a space for dialogue, reflection, and cultural growth, just a short stroll from our doors.

MICAH PROJECTS – April, May & June 2025

Micah Projects is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing services and opportunities in the community to create justice and respond to injustice. They are tireless in supporting those most in need of housing, healthcare, support, safety, justice, and meaningful connection.

They provide support services tailored to an individual’s needs and capacity, helping those in crisis and needing support; experiencing or at risk of homelessness; experiencing domestic and family violence; part of a family in crisis; young pregnant mothers, young parents and their families; survivors of institutional child abuse; experiencing chronic homelessness; who require housing with extra on-site support; vulnerable and unable to access mainstream healthcare; socially isolated, marginalised and excluded from opportunity.

AUSTRALASIAN DANCE COLLECTIVE (ADC) – February & March 2025

We know talent when we see it and ADC has it in spades – carving out a name for itself nationally for its bold and exciting performances that push the boundaries on dance and performance.  So more than a dance ensemble, ADC is a true collective with a multi-armed and trans-generational approach featuring five core foundations: 1) the ‘Company’ is an extraordinary ensemble of six professional dancers; 2) a Youth Ensemble for young dancers aged 14-19; 3) a Mature Ensemble with no age limit; 4) a Pre-Professional Program to progress new talent; and 5) a First Collective Residency with BlakDance to support established and emerging First Nations choreographers and dancers.

YALARI – December & January

Yalari is a not-for-profit organisation providing full secondary school scholarships to Indigenous children from regional and remote communities around Australia, offering access to quality education at leading boarding schools.

Yalari believes education is the key to generational change and a brighter future for Indigenous Australians. Combining scholarships with comprehensive support and post-school pathways programs, students are empowered to realise their potential as the next generation of leaders, creating meaningful impact within their communities and beyond.
