The Position

A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Food & Beverage to join The Calile Hotel. The individual we are searching for is already working within the luxury hotel sector, has a genuine curiosity about food and beverage and is always scanning the horizon for innovative and creative ideas/solutions to add value to the business.

The Calile Hotel is setting the tone in defining luxury within the Australian market. This unique role has the opportunity to be career-defining in an enviable work location in a dynamic lifestyle precinct. As a key senior leadership team member, you will be driving business strategy and exposed to international growth opportunities.

This role will be responsible for our Lobby Bar Restaurant, Conference & Events Department, In-Room Dining as well as our rooftop garden production and event space.

Reservations Manager

The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Reservations Manager to join our Calile team. As the Reservations Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and seamless operation of our reservations department. You will be responsible for managing a team of reservation agents, optimizing room inventory, and enhancing the guest experience through personalized service and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the reservations department, including managing reservations agents’ schedules and workload
  • Monitor and analyse reservation trends, room availability, and pricing to maximise revenue and occupancy
  • Develop and implement reservation policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Train and mentor reservation agents to deliver exceptional service and handle guest inquiries and special requests
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement strategies to drive room bookings and revenue
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the hotel’s offerings, promotions, and special packages to effectively upsell and cross-sell to guests
  • Resolve guest concerns and issues related to reservations promptly and professionally
  • Prepare and analyse reports on reservation performance, forecasting, and revenue analysis
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitors to identify opportunities for improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel reservations or a similar role, with 1 year in a supervisory or managerial capacity
  • Strong understanding of reservation systems and revenue management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve performance targets
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in hotel reservation software – preferably Opera Cloud
  • Knowledge of local and regional market trends is a plus
  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences

About the Role

As a Hotel Pool Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring our guests have a relaxing and enjoyable experience at our pool area. You will oversee all pool operations, manage a team of pool attendants, and ensure the safety and satisfaction of our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision: Lead, train, and motivate a team of pool attendants to deliver exceptional guest service.
  • Safety: Enforce pool rules and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of guests and staff.
  • Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance and housekeeping to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the pool area.
  • Guest Experience: Proactively engage with guests, address concerns, and ensure their comfort and satisfaction.
  • Inventory: Manage inventory of pool towels, furniture, and equipment, and reorder supplies as needed.
  • Scheduling: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Training: Provide ongoing training to pool attendants on customer service, safety procedures, and emergency response.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate records.
  • Problem Solving: Quickly and effectively resolve any issues that arise at the pool area.
  • Budgeting: Assist in budget planning and control of expenses related to pool operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a hotel or resort setting is preferred.
  • Lifeguard certification and First Aid/CPR certification are required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for providing exceptional service.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Knowledge of pool equipment and maintenance is a plus.

The Position

We are currently seeking a full-time Reservations Agent to join our reservations team.

About You

  • A minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel environment
  • Prior knowledge of Opera Cloud is an advantage
  • Experienced processing accommodation reservations over the phone, by email and via third-party websites
  • Ability to complete reservation enquires, cancellations and amendments
  • Comprehension of hotel selling status, rates, packages, room types and credit and cancellation policies are advantageous
  • Must have availability to work within a 7-day roster

Barista

About the Role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, high-energy barista to make outstanding coffee for our guests.  With natural flair, and a passion to consistently deliver a delicious experience, you will share your knowledge and work with other team members in the art of ‘all things coffee’.

To be successful in the position the main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining excellent presentation standards that are in line with market trends
  • Preparing and presenting beautiful coffee and beverages efficiently and within a reasonable time frame
  • Maintaining all coffee equipment – ensuring it is cleaned regularly and the workspace is impeccably tidy
  • Working in conjunction with the Lobby Bar Food & Beverage team to ensure all needs for that outlet are being met (pitching in and lending a hand as needed)
  • Assisting with set up and pack down of conferences and events as required
  • Assisting with service components of conference and events; ensuring run sheet is adhered to
  • Arranging and organising merchandise in an attractive and functional manner

Pool Attendant

Picture yourself in this role…

You are the face of The Calile, and your presence and professionalism make you stand out from the crowd. You will be an enthusiastic, proactive and driven team player, committed to ensuring our guests have an exemplary experience and delighting in assisting them in any way you can. This position is responsible for overseeing the general operation of the pool and surrounding amenities including shower facilities.

This casual role will deliver a range of services including but not limited to:

  • Conduct opening duties including removing pool covers, cleaning the pool & and surrounding areas, removing any floating debris and vacuuming
  • Throughout the opening hours of the pool maintain a vigilant oversight of the pool to ensure all users are safe
  • Engage with guests at every opportunity and deliver 5-star service on all requests they may have
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any unsafe equipment for repair or replacement

 

It is essential that you have a current and valid First Aid Certificate and have the ability to be flexible as shifts will vary over a 7-day rotating roster.
