Night Auditor

The Position

An exciting full-time opportunity exists for you to join The Calile Team in the role of Night Auditor. As a key contributor to the seamless and efficient overnight operations of this very busy property, your main duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • The auditing of the daily activity of the front office and food & beverage operations in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Providing accurate and up-to-date financial and yield reports as directed
  • Night management of hotel operations in the absence of department HODs
  • Ensuring guest feedback is recorded accurately per operational standards and any matters requiring action are resolved in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Ensuring guest security and privacy are maintained at all times
  • You must be able to work a flexible 7-day roster

About You

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel environment
  • Prior knowledge of Opera Cloud is an advantage
  • Pride in ensuring the accuracy of work
  • It would be advantageous in the position to demonstrate an understanding of hotel finance
  • You enjoy working a flexible roster including shift work, weekends and public holidays

Reservations Agent

The Positions

We are currently seeking a full-time Reservations Agent to join our reservations team.

The Role

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a guest services agent role within a 5-star hotel environment.
  • Prior knowledge of Opera Cloud is an advantage.
  • Experienced processing accommodation reservations over the phone, by email and via third-party websites.
  • Ability to complete reservation enquires, cancellations and amendments.
  • Comprehension of hotel selling status, rates, packages, room types and credit and cancellation policies are advantageous.
  • Must have availability to work within a 7-day roster.

THE POSITION

We seek a driven and motivated full-time Concierge to join our guest services team. You are the face of The Calile, and your presence and professionalism make you stand out from the crowd. You will be an enthusiastic, proactive, and driven team player, committed to ensuring our guests have an exemplary experience and delighting in assisting them in any way you can.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiating contact with guests entering and departing the hotel.
  • Ensuing the driveway and entrance to the hotel is kept clean and tidy, always in a presentable state.
  • Accommodating guest requests quickly and efficiently.
  • You have expert knowledge of Brisbane and James Street Precinct.
  • Performing valet parking duties as directed
  • Assisting guests with special requests, general information, transportation, event tickets, restaurant, airline reservations and any other reasonable requests as they arise
  • You must have a current and valid open Australian driver’s license, be able to drive manual and automatic vehicles and be available to work a rotating 7-day roster with a mix of early and late shifts.

Picture yourself in this role…

You are the face of The Calile, and your presence and professionalism make you stand out from the crowd. You will be an enthusiastic, proactive and driven team player, committed to ensuring our guests have an exemplary experience and delighting in assisting them in any way you can. This position is responsible for overseeing the general operation of the pool and surrounding amenities including shower facilities.

This casual role will deliver a range of services including but not limited to:

  • Conduct opening duties including removing pool covers, cleaning the pool & and surrounding areas, removing any floating debris and vacuuming
  • Throughout the opening hours of the pool maintain a vigilant oversight of the pool to ensure all users are safe
  • Engage with guests at every opportunity and deliver 5-star service on all requests they may have
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any unsafe equipment for repair or replacement

It is essential that you have a current and valid First Aid Certificate and have the ability to be flexible as shifts will vary over a 7-day rotating roster.

About the Role

The Calile Hotel has a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, career-driven Chef de Partie to join our Kitchen Brigade. This position is a full-time opportunity.

To be successful, we are looking for the following attributes:

  • Certificate IV Commercial Cookery with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within a 4/5-star hotel.
  • Proven exemplary customer service skills – ensuring all food is prepared and presented in a way that aims to exceed guest expectation.
  • Strong communication skills – clear, concise, and open – within the team and across other departments.
  • Strong organisational skills – ensuring your section is clean and tidy and runs efficiently and productively.
  • Excellent time management – proactively ensuring preparation is done to ensure the readiness of current and proceeding shift.
  • Great teamwork – you are part of a busy team where collaboration and commitment to excellence are essential.
  • Creativity – from problem-solving under pressure to contributing to menu ideas in line with market trends.
  • HACCP trained with the ability to impart knowledge to junior chefs.

Duty Manager (Nights)

We are looking for an experienced Duty Manager (Nights) to join our team. In this role, you will assume a leadership position during the overnight shift, ensuring smooth operations and a seamless transition from our evening shifts to night and night to day shifts.

About the role:

  • Conduct daily audits of front office and food & beverage operations in adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Providing accurate and up-to-date financial and yield reports as directed.
  • Managing hotel operations in the absence of the Hotel General Manager and Senior Management Team.
  • Taking the lead in supervising all team members and overseeing operations in the absence of department heads.
  • Accurately recording guest feedback and promptly implementing necessary service recovery procedures.
  • Assisting the reservation team in ensuring compliance with hotel-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting practices and processes are outlined in hotel-specific SOPs.
  • Collaborating closely with Housekeeping and Maintenance to deliver rooms, products and services that meet brand standards.

Role requirements:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Possession of a current RSA certification and, ideally, qualifications such as a degree in Hotel or Hospitality Management.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of creating memorable experiences for your guests.
  • Experience in providing luxury and five-star service in busy medium to large-sized properties.
  • Agility to adapt and prioritise tasks efficiently, ensuring swift resolution of guest requests.
  • Exceptional time management skills and highly organised approach to tasks.
  • Dedication to delivering outstanding guest experiences, recognising that guests are at the core of everything we do.
