The Position
We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and very experienced Duty Manager to play an important role in our leadership team.

Duties and Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Leadership of all team members & functionality within rooms division and management of operations in the absence of Heads of Departments as required
  • Ensure guest feedback is recorded accurately and action any service recovery process in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Assist reservations team in ensuring hotel specific SOP’s are adhered to
  • Ensure all accounting practices and processes are achieved per hotel specific SOP’s
  • Work closely with Housekeeping, Maintenance and Restaurant and Bar Managers to deliver brand-standard rooms, products and services
  • Actively contribute towards reaching agreed hotel performance targets and objectives
  • Must have availability for a 7-day roster

More About You

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a luxury5-star property
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • Engaging leadership style that demonstrates a strong commitment to teamwork, but is also a strong individual contributor
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong Opera/Protel program experience
  • Self-motivated and proactive in approach
  • Exemplary grooming and presentation standards
  • Able to work a flexible roster, including shift work, weekends and public holidays.

Casual Reservations Agent

The Position
We are currently seeking a casual Reservations Agent to join our front office department.

About You

  • Previous hotel or travel agent experience is preferred
  • Prior knowledge of Opera Cloud is an advantage
  • Experienced processing accommodation reservations over the phone, by email and via third-party websites
  • Ability to complete reservation enquires, cancellations and amendments
  • Comprehension of hotel selling status, rates, packages, room types and credit and cancellation policies are advantageous
  • Must have availability to work within a 7-day roster
  • Whilst hotel experience is preferred, we are genuinely looking for the right people with a positive attitude that are hungry to learn – we will train and nurture your development; however, you do need to be computer literate due to the role.

Conference and Events Executive

The Calile is Brisbane’s premier event venue hosting a large range of exceptional functions from intimately styled dinners to multi-day conferences and everything in between. We are seeking an experienced Conference and Events Executive to bring our client’s vision to life. From start to finish, from small details to large, every aspect of the sales and planning process will be in your hands and yours to ensure a seamless experience every time.

The Position

  • Manage conference and event enquiries, site inspections and bookings/contracts
  • Liaise with clients in the lead-up to their function, including appointments, banquet event order creation, floorplans, payment schedules etc.
  • Liaise with all relevant event suppliers throughout the planning process to coordinate bump-in and bump-out
  • Ensure all event information, including banquet event orders, floorplans and client information, are prepared with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Execute a seamless handover to banquet operations to manage on-the-day coordination
  • Be the primary point of contact for the client throughout the planning process.
  • Manage and finalise event accounts and solicit client feedback
  • Ensure up-to-date files, including quotes, contracts, and event orders, are kept in accordance with hotel procedures to allow improvement of revenue forecasting, manpower planning and operational team communication.
  • Meet and exceed budgeted targets for MICE and MICE room nights on a monthly and yearly basis through the implementation of effective sales strategies and activities.
  • Maintain clear and concise communications with all departments and management regarding event details, special requests and guest requirements
  • Work closely with the Banquet Operations Department to ensure that client expectations are consistently achieved and exceeded.
  • Create and maintain relationships with the hotel’s key event suppliers and partners.
  • Attend networking functions as required.
  • Create and update conference packages and menus in collaboration with the hotel sales and marketing team.
  • Maintain immaculate presentation and grooming and ensure all team members on duty wear uniforms to a professional standard.
  • Perform any other reasonable task or instruction as directed by S&M Manager, C&E Manager or GM/HM.
  • Participate in the company’s scheduled training and development programs to improve self and department standards and attend departmental meetings as required.

About You

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in conference and event sales and planning
  • Opera Sales & Catering system experience highly regarded
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, matched with a positive attitude and a logical approach
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

The Calile Hotel comprises 175 guest rooms, resort pool, day spa, gymnasium, library, bars, restaurants and shops, integrating at ground level with the bustling James Street precinct of Fortitude Valley. The Position

A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Sales and Marketing to join the Calile Hotel.

This role is accountable for driving business development opportunities, sales execution, and marketing activity, and will lead a team of marketing and sales professionals to bring exceptional and bespoke experiences to guests.

As a dynamic and seasoned sales and marketing leader your deep understanding of current and potential market and sales trends informs future opportunities.  Your focus is on driving measurable and sustainable occupancy and revenue generation, and repeat and aspirational business.

You will be an outstanding people leader, an expert in senior stakeholder influencing, and a long-term strategic relationship builder. As a strong leader you are confident in coaching your team to deliver outstanding and on brand results in the accommodation, conference, sales, digital and event markets. The strength of your connections with industry specialists, tourism organisations, suppliers and clients ensure you are at the forefront of luxury property offerings.

You will work in and on the business, building capabilities and opportunities to ensure sustainable evolution of this beautiful brand, and its amazing people.

About You

  • Considerable experience in luxury properties in a similar senior sales and marketing role;
  • Proven experience in relevant market data analytics to shape the uptake of marketing/sales focus to enhance both revenue and occupancy;
  • The confidence and capability to pivot as required to ensure the relevance and currency of collateral for this luxurious brand;
  • On-brand presentation and style;
  • Hands-on experience with end-to-end sales;
  • A strong and clear communicator;
  • Exceptional time management skills;
  • Proven ability in both MS Office and Opera.
