We are committed to supporting our community through our ongoing charitable commitments. Over the past 12 months, our efforts have raised more than $118,460 for local charities including 3rd Space, the Australasian Dance Collective and the Institute of Modern Art. Throughout August and September our charitable mission continues. Every night a guest stays with us we will donate $5 to support Common Ground Queensland, a community housing provider supporting those experiencing homelessness.
Common Ground Queensland provides property and tenancy management services and a range of supportive and affordable housing programs for individuals and families in need across three programs.
The first is Brisbane Common Ground, a dedicated facility in South Brisbane that offers permanent, supportive housing to those who are chronically homeless and affordable housing to people on low incomes. To ensure residents feel at home in their units, Common Ground Queensland offers residents facilities such as a tenant computer room for access to online services, free wifi, a rooftop community garden and communal spaces such as the art studio, lounge and library. The apartment block also has over 30 dedicated units designed to accommodate wheelchair access for people with impaired mobility.
The second program is the Supportive Housing for Families Project, which offers families access to stable and affordable rental housing. The Supportive Housing for Families Project aims to help families find stability in the community while they access support.
Their third program is the Community Supportive Housing program which started in 2021, working with specialised organisations to offer and provide support and housing options for refugees and asylum seekers.
The vital projects undertaken by Common Ground Queensland to provide supportive and affordable housing to those most in need can only be achieved with government support and private donations.
