We continue our charitable mission and invite guests to match us.
Having successfully raised substantial funding for 3rd Space to help those experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and most recently raising vital funds to help sustain the creative work of the Australasian Dance Collective, this June and July The Calile will support local arts institution, the Institute of Modern Art (IMA) with $5 from every day stayed being donated directly to the IMA.
Local icon, the IMA is one of Brisbane’s and the Asia-Pacific’s most important and relevant forums for contemporary visual art. Championing art and artists by creating a space and place for ideas to be nurtured and explored, and connecting local voices to global dialogues via inclusive, sustainable, and innovative institutional practices.
Not only is the IMA Australia’s oldest independent public art gallery, at the centre of the Queensland arts ecology for 48 years – but most vitally – entry to its exhibits is always free. Providing free access to a world-class curation of contemporary art is a generous community commitment and does mean that the IMA relies on the generosity of donations and memberships to bolster support of its government funding, which is why we are supporting the IMA this winter.
We encourage our guests to contribute too and have made it easy to match (or better) our donation by adding your own contribution when making a booking to stay with us. Please consider adding a small contribution to IMA to support a much-loved local creative institution.
Donations ensure the IMA remains free for all, and to continue to be Queensland’s leading independent forum for contemporary art. Donations to the IMA enable them to continue to present new work by Australian and international artists and connect emerging artists with new audiences, and this why we are supporting the IMA throughout June and July.
To find out more about the IMA, visit them here, and remember to add a contribution when booking a stay during June and July to help our treasured local arts organisation to continue to provide access and inspiration to locals and visitors.
